If you are trying to defend Ferraro's comments, then SYFPH!
If you think Barack Obama is playing the "race card" by defending himself from those comments, then definitely SYFP!
If you think Barack Obama was the one who "brought up race" as an issue, then SYFPH!
If you think that saying that someone's comments about race are innapropriate and harmful is the same as calling that person a racist, then SYFPH!
If you think it is an acceptable political strategy to pit rural whites against blacks for electoral gain, the way that Jim Crow and the southern aristocracy have done for decades then, oh yeah, you better SYFPH!
If you think that the above strategy is a winning one for the primary election, then SYFPH!
If you think that the above strategy is a winning one for the general election, then go work for John McCain and Karl Rove, and also SYFPH!
If you can't see the distinction between (1) the ridiculous falsity that Obama is only winning because he is black and (2) the obvious truth that Obama's inspiring and unique background, including (but absolutely NOT limited to) his biracial heritage is just one of the MANY things that is exciting about his campaign and (hopefully) his presidency, then SYFPH!
If you are unable to see that both of these candidates are much more than their most salient-for-historical-reasons, culturally-obsessed characteristics, and that identity is a complex combination of factors that is too intricate for you, me, Ms. Ferraro, or the most talented cultural studies Phd student to get to the bottom of, then SYFPH!
I know there is a lot of talk about Zogby showing Clinton and Edwards up since yesterday and Obama down, but a new PPP poll shows Obama up since yesterday, and Edwards close to Clinton.
Obama up 20!

PP_SC_Release_012508.pdf
And this poll was supposedly done entirely LAST NIGHT.
Obama 44 Clinton 24 Edwards 19The end result is that we don't know what is going to happen in SC. But for those Clinton supporters, go ahead and keep up the lines about Clinton gaining, then IF Obama wins big tomorrow, the bump from beating expectations will be even bigger!
I have a huge beef with Maggie North of Claremont, a supposed Obama supporter, who "warned" the Senator Monday:

"you've got to stop -- excuse me for being blunt -- you've got to stop getting involved in the way people are fighting each other, chewing you up a little more."
I realize there are many pressing issues facing the nation and the Democratic Party these days, but today I want to talk about our future. Like global warming and the depletion of our natural resources, this issue will not affect us immediately, nor will it change the way we live our ordinary lives tomorrow. But in the coming decades I predict it will come to dominate the concerns and discussions of all good Democrats.

I really really hope that I am wrong on this, and perhaps Jerome can correct me on this, but I don't know how else to interpret his "Update"
I don't believe there has been a diary about this yet, but if there has, please let me know and I'll delete. First Read is reporting that, unlike Biden, Richardson, and Dodd, John Edwards agrees with Obama's statements on Pakistan yesterday.
